A darkly humorous tale of wretched contentment.

This is a story of death - the death of a company and the death of a man who died trying to save it. It is also a tale of life, of the half-life of wretched contentment, of real life and of life in Second Life. It tells the story of what happens when we work to live and end up living to die. Building on the success of "Empowering the Cheese" Rational Madness return with a work that takes a fundamental and painfully funny look at the world of work and what happens when our play is a collusion of mediocrity.

Drawing on a multitude of references - ranging from classical and popular cultures, the death of religion, motivational techniques, and personal experience - local writer and performer Doug Devaney argues that this tenacious grip we hold on life has led to a decadent culture that precludes risk in both art and business, instead prizing homogeneity over innovation, and asks: if life isn’t a rehearsal, why do we spend so much time workshopping it?
